Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
