Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
