Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Would it had been the end! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
