Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty Garden 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
