Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. Pay heed to me. 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth (again on the Day of Resurrection)? 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20
