Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 But the more I called, they only ran the farther away. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 rain from the sky, 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 And hath placed the moon therein for a light, and hath made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" 20
