The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
