Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say, "It has been revealed to me that a band of the jinn listened [to the Quran] and they said, "We have heard a really wonderful recital, 1 which guides to the right path; so we have believed in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord, 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 We thought that no man or jinn could ever tell lies about God. 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
