Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 which guides to the right path; so we have believed in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord, 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
