O thou folded in garments! 1 worship (God) for a few hours at night. 2 A half thereof, or abate a little thereof, 3 Or increase thereto. And intone the Qur'an with measured intonations. 4 Surely We will make to light upon you a weighty Word. 5 surely the first part of the night is heavier in tread, more upright in speech, 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 But keep in remembrance the name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him whole-heartedly. 8 (He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs. 9 Bear patiently whatever they say, do not yield to them and keep on preaching decently to them. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while. 11 We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing Fire, 12 choking food and a painful punishment. 13 On that day, the earth and the mountains will be violently shaken, and the mountains will be turned into heaps of moving sand. 14 Verily We! We have sent unto you an apostle, a witness over you, even as We sent unto Fir'awn an apostle. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure. 16 If you persist in denying the truth how will you escape the Day that will turn the children's hair grey. 17 on which the heaven will split apart, and His promise is done. 18 Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way. 19
