The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn, 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 and purify your clothing, 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And sons present by his side. 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he looked around, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 it scorches the skin; 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
