Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
