No! By the moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
