The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
