Nay, by the Moon 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning for people -- 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until death approached us". 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
