Nay, by the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
