Nay! By the moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the criminals, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
