Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning for people -- 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
