I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 About the guilty: 41 "What took you into the hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
