Nay, by the Moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
