Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
