Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
