Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
