Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
