Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
