Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
