Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
