Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
