Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
