Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
