Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
