Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
