The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Surely there hath come upon man a space of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning. 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. 7 And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- 8 saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. 9 We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). 13 And the shade thereof is close upon them, and the bunches of fruit thereof will hang low within their reach. 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 crystal-like, [but] of silver - the measure whereof they alone will determine. 16 There are they watered with a cup whereof the mixture is of Zanjabil, 17 from a fountain called Salsabila. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. 19 And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 Surely this is a reward for you, and your striving shall be recompensed. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
