Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 separating one from another, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
