In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
