The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He created man. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
