Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 separating one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 excusing or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
