Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed time? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
