Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
