Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
