Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
