Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 separating one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
