Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
