Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
