Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known calculated term. 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
