Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
