In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other, the verses of the Holy Qur'an, the angels, or the winds. 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the time comes for messengers to meet -- 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches." 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
