Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known term? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
