Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
