Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
