The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 a fitting requital, 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
